Internal Communications Advisor (COD)

Context

Trias strengthens entrepreneurial organizations around the world, that in turn support local entrepreneurs and farmers. Through tailored support for each partner, members get access to advice, small loans or training. This enables them to start a business or grow further. In this way, they gain more independence and sufficient income to give themselves, their families and their community a decent life.

What does the job entail?

You will be responsible for setting the direction and developing the overall strategy of internal communication and engagement activities within Trias. You will join the communications team, which is part of the Programmes & Partnerships Department of Trias of Brussels Office, which is a supporting entity for all Trias divisions.

You’ll report to the Coordinator Internal & External Communications and work closely with the External Communications Advisor to ensure the linkages with our external communications activities.

In this role you will:

  • lead the development and execution of an organization-wide change management project on internal communication. Working closely with all our colleagues worldwide, you will contribute to the overall success of our internal communication and engagement initiatives;
  • navigate complex, multi-faceted projects, coordinating efforts across various regions and teams. Taking charge of our SharePoint intranet, you will maintain a user-friendly experience for all colleagues and regularly send out internal newsflashes, cultivating a positive and collaborative team environment;
  • be responsible for monitoring, measuring, and reporting on the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives, along with a close collaboration with HR and other supporting teams on staff communications (e.g. policy changes and other initiatives);
  • keep abreast of communication trends and emerging technologies, you will provide valuable recommendations on how to leverage them internally;
  • developing an organisation-wide language policy, taking into consideration both aspects related to inclusivity and the means available to support this;
  • develop trainings and webinars to support the use of internal communication tools as well as all kinds of other activities that stimulate the exchange of information.

Your support will also extend to the coordination of translation and interpreting needs of the teams based in Brussels by, amongst others:

  • advising on translation and interpreting solutions and coordinating the work;
  • building and managing a network of volunteer translators and interpreters and liaising with professional interpreters and translators on an ad hoc basis.

Jouw profiel

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a Master's degree in a relevant domain, preferably with regard to communication, or equivalent qualification through experience;
  • You have a minimum of three years' professional experience in internal communications and/or employee engagement, ideally gained within an international context;
  • You have a work permit for Belgium;
  • You are highly organised and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with demonstratable ability to think strategically and effectively plan content across multiple channels;
  • You possess IT skills including use of SharePoint, social media, content management and other virtual tools in support of internal communication/translation;
  • You have gained experience in content creation as well as excellent writing skills and have the ability to convey complex topics in simple language to multiple audiences in English. Affinity with external communications is a plus;
  • Excellent knowledge of English is a must; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset, as Trias has 3 working languages;
  • You have an internal customer-oriented mindset and attitude, can enthuse colleagues and have the confidence to advise others (including senior colleagues) on internal communications best practices;
  • You are an internal communications advocate: you understand why internal communications is important, and can build effective working relationships and influence people;
  • You are self-motivated and able to take ownership of projects with limited direction;
  • You have affinity with the NGO sector and the ability to work with diverse teams.

What can we offer you?

  • We offer a job in a dynamic and challenging environment in an international context.
  • You will receive a full-time contract for an indefinite period.
  • The full-time gross monthly salary is a minimum of € 3.579,40 and a maximum of € 5.054,14 (with 35 years of relevant experience; salaries adapted to the current index).
  • The gross salary is supplemented by an attractive package of fringe benefits (meal vouchers, group insurance, hospitalisation insurance, 13th month, hybrid way of working (50% telework), telework allowance, etc).
  • The office is located in the heart of Brussels, easily accessible on foot from the Central Station, and close to metro Madou.
